WAYS OF WORKING

Our style is conversational, offering specific questions to help think about your ideas and giving you feedback on our thoughts about what you tell us. It is not so much an advice based practice as an explorative approach. We try to use uncomplicated language. In theoretical terms, our practice draws primarily on systemic, social constructionist and narrative therapy. This means that we are interested in what ideas people are drawing on and how these ideas or "stories" might be influencing one's sense of oneself, one's ideas about relationships or choice in the world. We are interested in meaning as developed through communication between people and think of people as living within communicating systems and not just in their heads.

We offer short and longer term work. You decide with the therapist how often you want to come and for how many sessions. We often encourage gaps between appointments because that time is important to processes of change too. So you might want to come fortnightly, three weekly or monthly.
