IN PERSON COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

Our experience

The Pink Practice is the most established and longstanding LGBTQI counselling and psychotherapy practice in the UK. We have been part of the LGBTQI communities since we launched in 1989 at Gay Pride in Kennington Park in Brixton.

All our therapists are highly experienced, qualified and registered with the UKCP or BACP.

Who do you work with?

We work with individuals, couples and families. Sometimes people want to bring a significant other to an appointment. We have experience of working with families and co-parents to be, households, young people and their parents.

When can this take place?

We are available Monday - Friday, 8am - 8pm. We will do our best to accommodate you and your schedule. There are times when we can offer couple or family appointments on Saturday mornings.

How often is the counselling?

People vary in what they want and in what they need. At The Pink Practice, we find people have a sense of when they next want to schedule an appointment so we like to be led by you on timing. It may depend what's going on for you. Most people opt for fortnightly, three weekly, monthly and so on. In fact, we encourage space between appointments so you have time to live, reflect, try out new ideas or behaviours. There are times when you might need more frequent appointments and we are open to that.

How much does it cost and how do I pay?

Individuals £90 - £150 per hour
Couples & Families £110 - £190 per hour

To decide what you should pay, in this fee scale, we ask you to decide if your income compares as low, average or high compared to other people’s income in the area where you live (eg London) and pay accordingly on the scale. With couples, we ask you to compare your joint income to other joint incomes in the London area, and pay accordingly on the scale.

Payment is by bank transfer two days before the appointment. We will send you those details once an appointment is in place.

How do I make an appointment?

Please email or ring us to arrange a brief chat about what you are hoping for from some counselling or psychotherapy. We can answer any questions you might have. We can consider if we can help you and who might be the best therapist for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to change or cancel an appointment we require seven days’ notice. If you give us more than seven days’ notice there is no charge. If you give us less than seven days’ notice we charge the fee you would have been paying whatever the reason for the cancellation.

More questions?

If you want to ask some questions or have more of a discussion, please contact us. If you want to make an appointment, we can talk briefly with you about what you might want from counselling and what we can offer.
